My Goals for This Year 2022| Writing and beyond

Welcome back to Lamon Reviews.

As you may know I am participating in the Long and Short Wednesday Weekly Challenge. This week the topic is my goals for 2022.

Long and Short Reviews

“This one step – choosing a goal and sticking to it – changes everything.”

Scott Reed

In the year 2022 I will be focusing on:

  • Blogging
  • Writing
  • Gardening

With blogging my goal for this year is to blog more frequently. I am concentrating on gaining followers and putting out interesting book blog posts. Mainly I want to write more book reviews and have more discussions about the books I read.

With writing, I want to keep writing. I have two things I have started. I am doing writing sprints with a couple of people I follow on twitch and youtube. It is getting me more active with my writing and making it easier for me to build the habit of writing. So far, so good… It’s day five of the new year!

For gardening my goal is simple. Increase yields. The only thing I was able to grow abundantly was squash. Everyone does well with squash. While my first year growing wasn’t a raging success, I have enough squash for us to eat until spring!

In the back of my head, I also want to restart learning the harmonica. I have one and I started last year and never got far. I don’t know if I am being too ambitious and should just stick with my three main goals, but I have wanted to learn an instrument and I already have it. I will see how far I can get with it!

Well, these are the goals I have set for myself in 2022. These are the broad strokes of my goals. Each one has many little moving parts that I am working on to keep me moving and motivated.

Now I’d like to hear from you.

What are your goals outside of reading? What have you done to take action on your goals? Let me know in the comments below.

And As Always…

Go forth, dear readers, support your favorite indie authors and encourage reading and literacy.

    1. Those sound great. What certifications are you looking into? A healthier relationship with food is a good idea. For us, understanding why we choose the foods we do and why I will absolutely binge a box of fudge creme sandwhiches helped a lot. I haven’t stopped but I don’t do it as often. 😊

  1. For me, I want to learn to set proper goals. So no more vague goals like ‘learn about self-publishing’, but more of ‘read at least 1 article on how to publish a book on Amazon’.

Of course, a lot of my year will involve reading and writing too. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration!

    1. You’re welcome. I tried to do actionable steps like I followed a person on twitch that I enjoyed listening to her talk to do writing sprints with and she has a set sprint schedule, so know when that day pops up on my calendar I am ready to write. So far so good. And its gotten me more motivated! Unfortunately, when I see some goals I set, they are also vague, like spend more time on gardening was vague, and even be more productive in the garden is a bit vague. I am reconsidering what my goal is and chopping it into something more actionable. I think we all do that!
