Superwoman – Mona Andrei
Have you ever been bitten in the ass by your own decisions?
This is the title of chapter 5 of SUPERWOMAN.
The idea of writing a book for single mothers came to me when I was still a young, single mom. Never having enough time or money, life was difficult. It was also both rewarding and lonely.
What do you do when you realize that you’re not happy in your relationship? I chose to leave.
As you can imagine, ending up as a single mom was not what I had planned for myself – or my kids. But it happened and I have no regrets. They say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And yet sometimes, wouldn’t it be nice to just get the memo?
Making bad or wrong decisions is something we all do. It’s a rite of passage to learning and growing. In my case, I chose the wrong man to have children with. At the time, people in my life thought that leaving that relationship was the “wrong decision”, but the truth is that after I left, I flourished.
How can anyone grow when they’re miserable? Leaving the father of my girls was the best decision I ever made. From there I went on to following my dreams to become a writer. If I had stayed with him, I would not have had the energy or ambition to do what I needed to follow my passion.
My intent for writing SUPERWOMAN was to remind other single moms that you are not your decisions. Regardless of the bad choices you’ve made in your life, do not let them define you (unless if you’re a serial killer).
